Pensacola Beach sits on Santa Rosa Island, a barrier island reached by bridge from Gulf Breeze, with Gulf Islands National Seashore protecting miles of undeveloped dunes to the east and west. Rentals cluster around the Casino Beach pier and run down the island toward Navarre Beach, where the shore gets quieter. The Gulf side has the surf and the sunsets; the Santa Rosa Sound side has calm water for paddling. Peak runs Memorial Day through July.
